Obituary: Paul J. Siegfried, former Alburtis Fire Chief
Paul Siegfried, 79, passed away Jan. 22.
Paul J. Siegfried, Jr., 79 of Alburtis passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Barbara Ann M. (Epting) Siegfried. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 18, 2012.
Paul was born in Alburtis, a son of the late Paul J. Sr. and Edna M. (Lohrman) Siegfried. Along with his father he owned and operated Siegfried’s Garage. He worked as an estimator for Bally Case and Cooler for 20 years. After retiring from Lutron Electronics in 1998 he returned and has worked part time until his passing.
He was a member of Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, Alburtis and served as a councilman and choir member. He was a member of the Alburtis Fire Company for over 55 years and was fire chief from 1977 to 1985.
He was a member of Lehigh Lodge#326 F&AM in Macungie, Lehigh Consistory-Valley of Allentown and the Rajah Shrinein Blandon. He was secretary of Shayk’s Court. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A member of the American Legion Post 217 in Topton, Macungie VFWPost 9264 and the Pikeville Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors: wife; nieces, Anne Schauer of Allentown; Dr. Julie and her husband Dr. Ronald Fairman of Philadelphia; great nephews Alexander and Connor; cousins Ron Eisenhard and his wife Heidi of Hills Grove, PA; godsons Bill Eisenhard of Bradenton, FL; David Eisenhard of Hills Grove, PA.
Services: 11 am Monday, Jan. 28, at Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, Alburtis. Burial with military honors will follow in Lehigh Zion Cemetery. A Masonic Service will be held prior to the funeral service.
