An outdoor bathroom stop in Eagleville on Thanksgiving night led to drug charges for a Spring Mount area man.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 22, Lower Providence Police Corporal Michael Slattery was on foot outside the Lower Providence Fire Department on Ridge Pike when he noticed a Chevrolet Silverado truck in the building's parking lot, according to a criminal complaint filed by Slattery.

According to Slattery, a man standing next to the truck was urinating in the parking lot. The man then entered the back seat of the truck, which, Slattery wrote, backed up and "accelerated at a high rate of speed, spinning the tires as it left the lot."

As the truck waited to pull onto Ridge Pike, Slattery wrote, he approached the passenger side of the truck and knocked on the window but did not receive a response..

Slattery recorded that he then opened the passenger door and "startled" the truck's multiple occupants. The front seat passenger, identified as Alejandro Flores, 34, of Berger Road in Lower Frederick Township, allegedly attempted to conceal an item in the seat. 

Slattery ordered Flores to step out of the vehicle. According to Slattery's affadavit, he then saw a small, clear Ziploc bag containing a white powder that a field test later determined to be cocaine. An additional bag containing cocaine was allegedly found inside Flores's pockets. 

Flores was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Justice Cathleen Kelly Rebar on Nov. 28.
