Red Carpet Event Will Kick Off Summer Reading Clubs
Parkland Community Library will host three reading clubs this summer for three age groups.
Parkland Community Library will kick off its Summer Reading Clubs on Thursday, June 21, with a red carpet event that includes a photo booth, face painting, crafts and short films screenings.
Registration is requested. Call 610-398-1361, ext. 19.
The library will host three reading clubs:
- Read-with-Me, for kids ages 2 through entering first grade
- Kids Read Club, for those entering second through fifth grades
- Teen Read Club, for those entering sixth through 12th grades
Youngsters can register online for the summer reading program, starting June 18, or at the library, 4422 Walbert Ave.
Those who take part in the reading clubs will be able to log in the time they spend reading and will be eligible for prizes. They can also opt to donate 5 cents to the Make-a-Wish Foundation instead.
With their parents' permission, youngsters also can be videoed as they talk about a book they've read, for posting on YouTube.
