Jaindl's Rutz Farm Development Gets Public Hearing Thursday

David Jaindl had proposed developing the 94.4-acre Rutz Farm off Walbert Avenue back in 2011.

The South Whitehall Planning Commission will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on David Jaindl’s plans for developing the 94.4-acre Rutz Farm off Walbert Avenue.

The plan proposes to subdivide the tract into 106 lots for single-family homes, according to the planning commission's public meeting notice. The proposed minimum lot size ranges from 15,000 square feet to 1½ acres.

About 10,558 feet of new roadway is proposed, along with recreation and stormwater management areas.

The meeting will be held in the township's public meeting room, at 4444 Walbert Ave.

Planners got their first look at development plans in 2011, and nearby residents weighed in on the proposal. Jaindl had modified plans in August 2011, laying out a proposal for 102 homes instead of 106 homes.

Copies of plans, applications and supporting documents are available for public inspection at the township municipal building.
