What Goes Here? Magnolia's Vineyard Restaurant
Magnolia's Vineyard Restaurant is closed and the interior is vacant. It's also thought to be haunted by a 'friendly' ghost.
Magnolia’s Vineyard Restaurant, located at 2204 Village Road where it intersects with Huckleberry Road, is a historic building that has been used as an inn and restaurant since the 1800s. It's also thought to be haunted by a good-natured ghost named Magnolia Evans, whose family once owned the building.
Larry Ginsburg, of Prudential Regency Real Estate, currently represents the property, which is owned by a bank. He said it is 8,000 square feet, zoned commercial and is listed for $320,000.
There was one interested party that recently looked at the building and wanted to use it as a daycare and church but Ginsburg said a church is the one zoning restriction on the property.
For more information on the property call Ginsburg at 610-393-0892.

When did Magnolia's close? I know it had been a long time since we went there, and I can't remember any publicity about it for a few years...

Good question..I'm not sure. The realtor didn't know for sure. Any Patch readers out there who might know?

With all of the new professionals moving into the area, I think it's time for a progressive wine bar/restaurant or gastro pub to be added to the mix of delapidated, grungy, biker bars that surround this area. Create a menu serving nothing but tapas, appetizers, cheese plates and meat dishes. Have a bar that specializes in micro-brews, or a wine lounge that caters to the more sophisticated palet of scotch, cigars, classical music and a good cabernet. There is currently nothing like this short of driving 30 mins to the Promenade! Please give us an investor whos willing to support something other than another non-profit antique store or greasy diner in this area!!
