Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall, (on the corner of Walbert Avenue & Springhouse Road) will hold its 5th Annual Chili Cookoff on Saturday, March 16, from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.
Free will donations will support the ministries of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches www.lehighchurches.org.
The community is invited to taste 40 chilies from professional, amateur and firehouse chefs and vote for favorites.
Celebrity Judges are:
* Diane Stoneback, food writer for The Morning Call
* Jaccii Farris, WFMZ reporter
* Darryl Dawkins, former NBA player
* Dr. Irving Cotto, district superintendent, United Methodist Church

More About Asbury United Methodist Church
With its rich history and striking architecture, Asbury United Methodist Church rises triumphantly along Springhouse Road and Walbert Avenue. The church opened its doors in South Whitehall Township in 1978, six years after a fire destroyed the church at its previous site in downtown Allentown at the time of its 50th anniversary. At its current location, the church grew and grew, from less than 400 members to more than 1,500 today, requiring two expansions. The church offers a nursery school, ministries and many outreach programs.
