Jordan United Church of Christ sits on a woodsy 42 acres, with a cemetery, peace garden,  outdoor chapel for summer services, grove and gazebo. It has a rich history dating back to the mid-1700s, when Swiss nobleman Lorentz Guth donated the land to build a log church for the Reformed congregation. As the congregation grew, a new church had to be built in the 1770s and again in 1808. Additions and renovations in subsequent years brought the steeple and bell, a portico, social/recreation hall, nursery and classrooms.
