  • Wednesday, Sept. 11 is expected to feature a return to summer temperatures, with partly sunny skies and a high around 91 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
  • The Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., will hold its monthly Night at the Movies at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Each month, the library hosts the exclusive screening of a unique and often award-winning film. Under the licensing agreement, the library is not permitted to list titles. Please call the library at 610-398-1361 for more information.
  • Attention Lottery players! You've got to be in it to win it.Wednesday's Powerball jackpot has quietly risen to $245 million. Not a bad chunk of change. Tickets are $2 each. 
  • The Parkland School District fourth-grade band and strings ensemble will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Parkland High School.
  • The Parkland High School girls soccer team hosts Liberty under the lights Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The junior varsity game is at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Parkland High School girls volleyball team hosts Whitehall in a Lehigh Valley conference match at 7 p.m. The junior varsity match gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
