Another Mosquito Tests Positive for West Nile Virus in South Whitehall

State says a mosquito recently tested positive for the West Nile Virus in South Whitehall.

Another mosquito carrying the West Nile Virus has been found in South Whitehall, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

In municipalities across Pennsylvania, 43 mosquitos and one bird carrying the virus were found Tuesday, including in Bethlehem, Whitehall, Upper Saucon and Lower Saucon, the department said. 

One man in Pennsylvania sickened by the virus this summer has died, the department said last week. 

Lehigh County is considered a "moderate risk" for West Nile this summer by the state, with a total of 37 mosquitos testing positive out of 384 samples.

Northampton County is considered "high risk" with 19 mosquitos testing positive out of 176 samples.
