Rotisserie chicken and home-style meals, ready when you are

Like many other eating establishments, Boston Market follows the quick service model of eat-in or take-out meals. Rather than burgers and fries, Boston Market features home-style hot meals of meat, side dishes and cornbread.

Their most well-known menu item is rotisserie chicken, which is slow-roasted continuously throughout the day for ready availability.

The first restaurant in the chain, opened in 1985 in Massachusetts, was originally called Boston Chicken. After 10 years of growth, the name was changed to Boston Market, acknowledging the addition of more varied menu items such as turkey and meatloaf.

Customers may choose individual meals (most priced from $6.99 to $8.49) or family meals with quantities adjusted for three, four, five or six people.

Entrée choices are rotisserie chicken (half chicken, quarter white meat or three piece dark), turkey breast, beef brisket and meatloaf. There are a dozen side dishes, including mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, steamed vegetables, mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole.

Boston Market also serves made-to-order sandwiches of hand-carved meats, entrée salads of rotisserie chicken mixed with greens and other ingredients in various flavor combinations, and an individual chicken pot pie ($4.99) in which steamy chunks of chicken, potatoes and vegetables hide under a golden pastry crust. Custom combos may be created with two of the diner’s choice of soup, half salads, half sandwiches and sides.

Kid-sized and kid-friendly meals are priced at $4.29. Desserts round out the Boston Market menu, available as single servings or whole pies and cakes.
