Take Tilghman Street west from Allentown or east from Fogelsville. When you see the red, white and green split rail fence (think flag of Italy), you’ll be at Paese Mio.
The name means “My Hometown.” There Marco, Maria and the rest of the gang who run this family-owned restaurant serve a full array of Italian cuisine.
At both lunch and dinner time, the establishment is usually bustling with customers stopping to pick up orders as well as those coming to eat in. Paese Mio is handy for a business lunch, “no cooking tonight” take-out, or a full service meal for family and friends.

Of course there’s Paese Mio pizza—many standard and savory versions, plus any combination of toppings you want. Two interesting options are sesame or poppy seed crust.
The menu has a selection of hot heroes, cold subs and varieties of steak sandwiches, plus the made-fresh favorites of stromboli, calzone and chicken roll. For a full dinner, all the critical food groups are offered: appetizers (including shrimp cocktail and mussels marinara), soups, salads (dinner, Caesar, scungilli), entrees and desserts (including tiramisu and cannoli).

Entrees include all sorts of pastas and sauces, traditional baked pastas, and numerous variations of seafood, veal, chicken and eggplant dishes. Daily specials are worth a look, and it’s easy to do that. Plated samples of the entrée specials are always on a table in the entryway, enticing taste buds.
Paese Mio does not have a liquor license, but you may bring your own bottle, or request a complimentary glass of wine with dinner.
Diners have the option of sitting on the large covered patio, which is protected from the elements but still offers an al fresco experience. Thanks to enclosures and heaters, the addition is usable virtually year-round.
