$10M Cetronia Ambulance Center Groundbreaking [Photos]

Gov. Tom Corbett, South Whitehall officials and Lehigh County officials were among the dignitaries at the new Cetronia Joint Operations Facility groundbreaking Thursday.

Gov. Tom Corbett joined Lehigh County and South Whitehall officials Thursday at the groundbreaking for the new Cetronia Ambulance and Lehigh County Joint Operations and Medico-Legal Forensics Center.

The 68,000-square-foot building will rise at Broadway and Parkway roads, near  the Lehigh County sports fields, in South Whitehall.

The unique facility will house the Cetronia Ambulance’s fleet, a regional education center, the coroner's office and the county communications center. The communications center will bear the name of John E. Walson, the former head of Service Electric, whose family donated $275,000 toward the project.
