2 From Orefield Charged in International Meth Ring

A crystal methamphetamine ring, which stretched from Mexico to the Lehigh Valley and allegedly distributed $7 million worth of drugs over the past five years, has been broken up by state narcotics agents, according to state officials. Among those charged are Kimberly Kerstetter, 39, and John Kerstetter, both of 5100 Huckleberry Road, Orefield.

Devoted Parkland teacher John R. Ritter, 62, of Neffs died Tuesday. In an outpouring of support, the Parkland community had held a bone marrow drive for him last year.

Alvin H. Butz to Manage Parkland Renovation Projects

The Parkland School Board approved hiring Alvin H. Butz, Inc. as its construction manager during Thursday night's agenda meeting. Butz will manage multiple renovation projects scheduled throughout the district during the next 30 months, including at Kratzer Elementary School.
