Your Guide To Area Fireworks

You can see fireworks on Sunday and Monday at various venues.

Here is a list of area fireworks displays and celebrations:

* South Whitehall

Where/When: D, on July 3 and July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is required to enter the parks. However, you can take the family to any of the surrounding parking lots or parks to view the fireworks. Grab a $1 hot fudge sundae at the nearby McDonald’s, or go for the real deal at  on Hamilton Boulevard.

Allentown

Where/When: J. Birney Crum Stadium, on July 4. Festivities begin at the stadium at 6 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m. 

Admission is free to the stadium, but donations are welcomed. Fireworks display can be seen from all over the city and outlying areas.

* Upper Macungie:

Where/When: Earl Adams Park, Breinigsville, on July 3 (Rain date is July 4.) beginning at 8 p.m. At dusk, a 33-minute fireworks show set to patriotic and contemporary rock music.

It's Free. Bring a chair and blanket. 

* Bethlehem: 

Where/When: Bethlehem Steel Stacks, on July 4, beginning at noon. Day-long Independence Day Celebration at Air Products Town Square includes children's craft area; apple pie eating contest from noon to 2 p.m.; and the Allentown Symphony at Levitt Pavilion Steel Stacks peforming patriotric music beginning at 8 p.m.

Where/When: On the Payrow Plaza, the American Legion band will play beginning at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks follow at 9 p.m.; the show will be visible from various areas in the city.  

* Quakertown

Where/When: Quakertown Memorial Park, on July 4 as part of Community Day. Pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The Quakertown Band will host a free show starting at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks display at dusk at the park on Mill Street.
