Charles Shoemaker: Attorney, Grammar Aficionado, Scrabble Player [Obituary]

Charles E. Shoemaker, Jr., 59, of Coopersburg, passed away Nov. 24, 2013.

Charles E. Shoemaker, Jr., 59 years, of Coopersburg, passed away November 24, 2013. He was the son of Ruth (Levis) Shoemaker of Fogelsville and the late Charles E. Shoemaker, Sr. and loving husband of Lisa Jane Shoemaker.

Charles was the 1976 class valedictorian at Lehigh University and graduate of Yale Law School. He was a world-class scrabble player, reading and grammar aficionado, and damn great trial attorney. He was a lover of John Wayne, Car Talk, Christmas caroling and his family.

Charles was also a Sunday edition crossword enthusiast, history buff, and antique car collector with a sweet tooth for chocolate desserts. He was inspiring, challenging, kind, witty, thoughtful and insistent. Charles lived a complete life and will forever be remembered as a truly remarkable human being who spread comfort and happiness to everyone he met.

Survivors: Wife Lisa, Mother Ruth, Children: Eric, Virginia, Christian, and Gwynneth, and Canine Comrades: Duke and Spike.

Services: Private service will be held. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville.
