Frances Mae Werley, 91, Expert Seamstress [Obit]

Frances Mae (Andrews) Werley, 91, of South Whitehall, formerly of Upper Saucon, died Wednesday.

Frances Mae (Andrews) Werley, 91, of South Whitehall, formerly of Upper Saucon, died Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury.

She was the wife of the late Luther C. Werley, who died June 1, 2003.  Born in Bowmanstown on November 29, 1921 to the late Andrew R. and Julia F. (Stanley) Andrews. Frances was an expert seamstress at various textile companies.  She was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon, and served on its Altar Guild.

Loving children: Ronald L. and his wife Janet of New Tripoli; Eileen W., wife of Alan Sawyer of Stevensville, Mich.; Marilyn F., wife of Kirk Mackes of Bethlehem; daughter-in-law Kay A. Werley of Allentown; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a son, Luther L. Werley, on March 14, 2011, 10 brothers and sisters.      

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 3233 Apple Church Road, Bethlehem, followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Ziegels Union Cemetery, Weisenberg Township. The Reverend Tricia A. McMackin will officiate the service.  Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown.
