Wilbur Roy Reiss: Jordan UCC Member, Former Shipper at Prior Coated Metals

Wilbur Roy Reiss, 87, of Coplay, died Sunday, December 1, 2013.

Wilbur Roy Reiss, 87, of Coplay, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Edwina Betty (Brobst) Reiss. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary lastJanuary 18.

Born in Friedensville, October 16, 1926, Roy was the son of the late Calvin and Blanche (Scholl) Reiss. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Roy was employed as a shipper at Prior Coated Metals, Allentown, for 28 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Betty; daughter, Rebecca L. Minnick of Elizabethtown; brother, Calvin C. Reiss of Allentown; granddaughter, Danielle L. Minnick of Lancaster; great-granddaughter, Rebekah Leann Minnick of Lancaster.

Services: Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Jordan U.C.C., 1837 Church Road, Allentown, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the church parlor. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
