"The Imaginary Invalid" and "The Wizard of Oz"

It is time for another one of Parkland High School's plays! The performance of The Imaginary Invalid is this Friday and Saturday, January the 24 and 25. Both performances will be at 7:30 p.m. in the PHS auditorium. If you are interested in buying tickets to see the show, the box office opens at 6:30 for both nights of the show. Adult tickets cost $10 and students, children, and senior citizens can purchase their tickets for $8.

Here is a little information on what The Imaginary Invalid is all about. The Imaginary Invalid tells the story of a rich man named Argan, who is a severe hypochondriac.  He arranges a marriage for his eldest daughter to marry a doctor, who tends to Argan for free. However, his daughter is already in love with another man. Argan gives his daughter four days to decide whether she will marry the doctor or become a nun. Over this time, Argan pretends to be dead, and finds out that his wife only married him for his money, and his daughter is the only person that truly loves him. After Argan’s daughter marries her true love, he becomes a doctor himself.

The sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Parkland who star in this play truly make the roles come to life and tell the terrific story of The Imaginary Invalid. Everyone should come out and see it!
