2 Guns, 13 Jewelry Pieces Taken in 2 Burglaries, Police Say

Thefts reported on Highland Avenue and 17th Street were surrounded by different circumstances, police said.

Two South Whitehall Township homes were reported burglarized by homeowners on Thursday, though the circumstances of the incidents appeared to be very different, according to police.

Two guns were taken from one home on the 1300 block of 17th Street, near the intersection of W. Fairmount Street, police said. The burglar or burglars forced their way into the house through a window.

Homeowners reported the burglary at about 7:30 p.m.
