A resident driving on Chestnut Hill Road around 9:30 am Thursday saw something burning and called 911.
The Lehigh County coroner and district attorney were called to the scene, which has been blocked to public access as officials investigate, according to a WFMZ report.
Unami is a private shooting and social club, according to its website. The property includes pistol, rifle and archery ranges and a clubhouse with bar and banquet room. Members pay $20 to $60 to join the club.
Neighbor Tim Bollinger told Patch he left his home around 7:45 a.m. to get an oil change and all was quiet. When he came home about two hours later, he saw flashing lights from police cars and emergency vehicles. Bollinger thought there had been a car accident, which is not uncommon on the road.
This is the second time this year a body was found in the township. In July, the body of Kimberly Cardona of Whitehall was discovered by a man walking his dog. Cardona's killer is accused of cutting her neck and dousing her body with bleach.
In 2011, a hunter found skeletal remains in the township. The remains were later identified as a Doylestown man.
Also in Lehigh County, police are still searching for the killer of a Brooklyn man whose burned body was found shortly after Halloween 2011 in South Whitehall Township.
