Details of Post-Dorney Park School Bus Crash Released

State police have released details of an accident involving a school bus after it left Dorney Park on Friday

State police from the Fogelsville barracks have released details of a crash involving a Pennridge Regional School District bus and a sedan at Hamilton Boulevard/Route 222 and the onramp to Interstate 78 in Lower Macungie Township Friday.

happened as three Pennridge buses were transporting students home from a day trip to in South Whitehall. The school district is in upper Bucks County.

Nobody was seriously hurt.

Police say there were 24 students, two chaperones and a driver on the bus. Fifteen students were taken to two local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver was Edward Parish, 68, of Quakertown.

Police say Parish turned left on a green light, trying to get on Interstate 78. That put the bus in the path of a nortbound red Subaru Impreza driven by Jonathan Banko, 20, of Lehighton.

Banko's vehicle hit the front of the bus causing the bus to rotate and hit a traffic light pole, according to state police. Power to the light facing noth- and southbound traffic on 222 was knocked out.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt.

Police say their investigation into the crash is continuing.
