Driver Charged with DUI After Flipping SUV on Rt. 22

A Bath motorist who flipped his vehicle on Route 22 last week in South Whitehall was charged with drunken driving, state police say.

Anthony Frank August Jr., 63, of Bath has been charged with drunken driving after his vehicle rolled over on Route 22 in South Whitehall last week, according to state police at Bethlehem. 

August reportedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.28 percent, troopers say, which is more than triple the legal limit of .08. He was traveling on westbound Route 22 near mile marker 319.9 about 2:07 p.m. Aug. 21 when his vehicle hit the median, causing it to roll over on its roof.

He was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to a Morning Call story.

August was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and several summary offenses.
