Jaindl Family Member Injured in Car Accident

Widow of Fred Jaindl overturned maroon Mercedes-Benz along Route 309 in South Whitehall Township, police say.

The widow of Frederick Jaindl was involved in a car accident along Route 309 in South Whitehall Township on Friday afternoon, police said.

Anne L. Jaindl was driving a maroon Mercedes-Benz in the northbound lanes when, for an unknown reason, the car crossed the double-yellow lines, went across the southbound lane and into a drainage ditch, police said.

The car continued in the drainage ditch for 500 feet before it overturned, with Jaindl still inside, police said. Emergency workers were able to remove Jaindl from the car without mechanical assistance.

Cetronia Ambulance took Jaindl to Lehigh Valley Hospital, police said, but her condition was not available.

The accident occurred in the area near Pope Road and the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to the police news release.
