Man Charged in Assault, Break-in on Chandler Way

A 33-year-old Allentown man has been charged with breaking into a South Whitehall home and assaulting its occupants.

Police charged Jeffrey M. Salemo, of 1104 Liberty St., with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, simple assault and harassment.

According to a criminal complaint, Salemo kicked the back door open at 5923 Chandler Way at 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 21, entered the bedroom and assaulted Lori Marinucci on the side of the head and back with a closed fist. When Douglas Mancini attempted to stop him, Salemo turned and punched him, causing cuts and bruises.

Salemo threw items, breaking a flat panel TV, coffee table, iPhone and decorative items, according to the complaint.

District Judge Michael Faulkner set bail at $25,000.
