Police Catch Alleged Burglar in Act on Cedar Crest

Allentown man removed pieces from heating system, plumbing, wiring and door knobs to sell as scrap metal, police say.

An Allentown man is facing 10 felony counts following his arrest, which allegedly came while he was in the midst of burglarizing an unoccupied Cedar Crest Boulevard home.

Timothy A. Horlacher, 24, was caught early Wednesday as he was removing “pieces of the heating system, air conditioning system, door knobs and brass carpet stays, plumbing and electrical wiring” from a home at 411 N. Cedar Crest Boulevard, according to a South Whitehall Township Police Department news release.

Horlacher had already taken numerous items as scrap metal—believed to have come from this house—to cash in at United Compressed Steel, 802 N. 13th St., Allentown, police said.
