Pest Chemical Sickens 2 People in South Whitehall Home

South Whitehall Police report two township residents used too much pest control product in a confined space.

 

On Jan. 27 at 1:44 p.m., South Whitehall Police were called to a home at 1412 N. 21st St. because two residents were experiencing respiratory illness.

Police determined the residents had used a significantly high level of a residential pest control product in a small area. The occupants of the home, first responders and pets were decontanimated by Special Operations as a precaution.

South Whitehall Emergency Management, Lehigh County Special Operations, Lehigh Valley Health Network Department of Public Safety and Lehigh County Animal Response team were called in to assist.

Cetronia Ambulance Corps treated the occupants of the house.
