South Whitehall Man Killed in Crash

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office and the Colonial Regional Police are investigating the 2-vehicle crash that occurred in Lower Nazareth.

A 45-year-old South Whitehall man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Lower Nazareth, the Lehigh County Coroner's office said.

Matthew R. Pope, of 2056 Guth Road, died as result of multiple blunt force trauma, the coroner said.  He ruled Pope's death an accident.

Pope was pronounced dead at St. Luke's University Hospital-Fountain Hill at 12:36 p.m.

According to a release from the coroner's office, Pope's vehicle collided with another vehicle at 9:20 a.m. at Route 248 and Prologis Parkway in Lower Nazareth.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office and the Colonial Regional Police are investigating.
