Teen Charged in Parkland Threat Faces More Drug Counts, Police Say

Nicholas Ibarra, 19, of Breinigsville faces drug charges, Upper Macungie Police said.

A Breinigsville teen charged with threatening to hurt a Parkland High School student in June is now facing drug charges from a separate incident, according to Upper Macungie Police.

Police say Nicholas Ibarra was allegedly found with three teenagers in a car in a W. Tilghman Street parking lot in the early morning of July 6. Police said a search of the vehicle found marijuana, LSD and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Ibarra and the teenagers were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the teenagers was charged with possession with intent to deliver, in addition to the other charges.

Police did not identify the teenagers, who are under 18.

In another incident, police charged Ibarra, who turned 19 on Aug. 9, with drug offenses in late August after allegedly finding a small amount of marijuana and other drug items in his car. Police pulled him over for a suspected traffic violation.

Patch reported earlier that Ibarra waived an Aug. 12 preliminary hearing on charges of terroristic threats, criminal trespass and possession of weapons on school property in connection with the June incident at Parkland High.

Police have said Ibarra was found in the school with two folding knives. But he was caught "without incident" before the start of classes.
