Township Man Gets House Arrest for Having Child Porn

Tyler Joe Daniels, 22, also sentenced to probation, must register as sex offender for life.

A South Whitehall Township man who admitted to having child pornography on his computer in 2011 avoided getting jail time but was sentenced Monday to three months of house arrest with GPS monitoring and four years of probation, according to a published report.

Tyler Joe Daniels, 22, of Orefield who was sentenced by Lehigh County Judge William Ford, also will have to register as a sex offender for life under Pennsylvania's Megan's Law, according to The Express Times.

When he was arrested in March, state police said he posted up-skirt photos of some classmates on an Internet site when he attended Parkland High School.

Police seized Daniels' computer during an investigation and discovered 24 images and four videos of child pornography.

Daniels pleaded guilty last July to five counts of child pornography in a case brought by the state Attorney General's office. He has been free on $25,000 unsecured bail, according to online court records.

Representing the Attorney General's office was Christopher Jones. Representing Daniels was Allentown attorney Kimberly Makoul, the records say.
