Tractor-trailer Catches Fire on Turnpike
No one was injured but the truck's food cargo was ruined and the northbound right lane in South Whitehall was closed, The Morning Call reports.
A tractor-trailer carrying food caught fire and burned tonight on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Huckleberry and Lime Kiln roads in South Whitehall, according to The Morning Call.
No one was reportedly injured but the food cargo in the truck was ruined, the Call reported. State police saw the tractor-trailer burning at 8:14 p.m. and fire companies were dispatched.
Last June, a tractor-trailer fire apparently ignited a portion of a massive warehouse at Kraft Foods in Bethlehem Township. Multiple emergency units responded to the Kraft Foods cold storage facility at 2600 Brodhead Ave. The damage was contained.
