Despite the snow and frigid temperatures, construction crews continue to plug along at the building site of the Cetronia Ambulance Corps’ new headquarters at Parkway and Broadway in South Whitehall.

You can watch the construction progress live on the corps’ website, which now features a live camera feed of the site, provided by Service Electric.

The $10 million communication center will bear the name of John E. Walson, the late Service Electric president. The Walson family contributed $275,000 to the project.

The 68,000-square-foot facility, scheduled to open later this year, will house the Cetronia Ambulance’s fleet, a regional education center, and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

1.7 million dollars in free money from the state, $275,000 from my cable bill (media release says $325,000), major donations from: PP&L Electric Utilities, Keystone Nazareth Charitable Foundation, The Harry C. Trexler Trust, Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Century Fund, The Ross Born Family Foundation, Fellowship Community, Charles H. Hoch Foundation, Caruso Benefits Group, the Holiday Inn Conference Center, PLUS free land from lehigh county and this pay service company still wanted 25,000 a year forever from south whitehall for the privilege of having the companies tax free building in south whitehall township taxpayers an NO other municipalities????? this cetronia ambulance organization is out of touch as much as the parkland community library people. If cetronia would put their "yearly donation" request to the voters that they would get the hint when it would be rejected that there are no free handouts especially for a non-profit who pays no tax and bills customers for service. What is the salary of CEO Larry Wiersch?
