Woman Accused of Stealing Hundreds of Items from Target
South Whitehall Police arrest a Wescosville woman on charges of retail theft valued at almost $4,000. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
A 67-year-old Wescosville woman walked out of Target without paying for merchandise valued at $3,757.60, according to South Whitehall Police reports.
Angela Couret was arrested Oct. 10 at 2:05 p.m. after two of Target's loss- prevention employees said they witnessed her taking numerous items. The report says Couret had put 52 jewelry items, 48 various belts, 16 various purses, 20 CDs, 140 miscellaneous items, 15 miscellaneous clothing accessories and two candy bars into shopping bags and then had walked out without paying.
Police said they recovered the items from Couret's car. This is her third arrest for retail theft, according to the report, and it apparently explains why a charge of retail theft is listed as a third-degree felony. District Judge Jacob Hammond set bail at $15,000, which Couret posted Tuesday, according to online court records.
