Woman Not Telling Truth about Stolen Items Report, Police Say
Video surveillance shows Lehighton woman 'incorrect' about alleged South Whitehall incident, state police say.
Video surveillance shows that a Lehighton woman was "incorrect" when she told state police that items in her unlocked vehicle -- including prescription medication -- were taken last week while in South Whitehall, according to a police fax.
The fax calls the case "false reports to law enforcement" and identifies the person making the report as Dillion Koch, 24.
The fax says that Koch came to state police at Fogelsville barracks and said that her unlocked vehicle was on the 4400 block of S. Cedarbrook Road when the items -- including the medication -- were taken.
The fax also says: "Video surveillance indicated her statements were incorrect" and that the incident did not occur.
Police said a complaint would be filed with the office of District Judge Michael Faulkner. A staffer in Faulkner's office said Wednesday the complaint hasn't been filed.
The fax does not say where the video surveillance was mounted. The fax lists a time of 1pm Nov. 21. But it's not clear if that refers to the alleged incident or when Koch visited the state police barracks.
Online records, meanwhile, say Koch has pleaded guilty to charges in her home county of Carbon.
She pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property in a February 2010 incident in Lehighton, the records say. A charge of theft by unlawful taking was dropped.
She pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief in a February 2009 incident in Palmerton. A charge of criminal trespass was dropped.
And she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking in a September 2008 incident in Lehighton, the records say.
