15-Home Development Coming to Chapmans Road

Ressler Acres would have 14 single-family twin homes and one detached home on Chapmans Road in South Whitehall.

A revised plan for Ressler Acres, a proposed development of 14 single-family homes on five acres in the 5300 block of Chapmans Road, was recently approved by the South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners.

The plan by developer Posocco Properties was previously granted approval in 2006 and revised twice, the last time in 2009.

The plan calls for 14 single-family attached homes, or twins, and one single-family detached home at 5344 Chapmans Road.

The development is near Posocco's proposed 200-unit townhouse development called Blue Barn Meadows in the 1500 block of Blue Barn Road. In May, Posocco successfully petitioned the South Whitehall Planning Commission to rezone 11 of the 40-acre development to allow higher density housing. The land had been zoned R4 medium density, which permits only single-family detached houses.

Posocco said he plans to build high-end garden apartments or condominiums with first-floor master bedrooms, a trend he said more homeowners want.
