3 Things to Know About South Whitehall Township Meeting Tonight

South Whitehall Commissioners will consider three new resolutions tonight.

South Whitehall Commissioners have three resolutions to vote on tonight.

1. Commissioners will vote to appoint someone to the township's Pension Committee.

2. Commissioners will vote to reappoint Jon Hammer as township manager.

3. Commissioners will vote to instate a new rate schedule for J. Scott Pidcock as the contracted township engineer. Commissioners discussed the new rate, which reflects a 2.5 percent increase, or about $1,000 a year.

"Our rates have been in place since 2010," Pidcock's J. Ralph Russek said during the Jan. 3 meeting. "We’ve been asked twice over the past two years to hold. With sensitivity to the economy we’ve kept it to 2.5 percent, so if we were to have the same scope of work we did in 2012, then 2.5 percent would amount to about $1,000."

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Administration Building.
