Brad Osborne To Lead County Commissioners

Former South Whitehall Commissioner Brad Osborne was unanimously selected after the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners voted six times, according to reports.

South Whitehall's loss is Lehigh County's gain.

, who was president of the South Whitehall Board of Commissioners before  the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners, was selected chairman of the county board on Tuesday night. 

Osborne was unanimously selected in the sixth round of voting, according to lehighvalleylive.com.

, who resided in South Whitehall before moving to Macungie last year, was unaimously named vice president.

Patch caught up with Osborne shortly before the New Year, and he on taxes, the nursing home and the proposed bi-county health department.

Osborne said he feels prepared to lead the county board and can "hit the ground running," according to a report in The Morning Call.

Osborne and Ott were among the four new county commissioners sworn into office at the board's reorganization meeting. Also joining the board were Vic Mazziotti and Lisa Scheller.

Osborne and Ott were chosen for the leadership roles after commissioners failed to reach majority decisions after five rounds of voting, according to lehighvalleylive.com.

Former Lehigh County Board Chair , who lost his , also resides in South Whitehall.
