* What makes you proud of the Democratic Party?

I am proud to be a Democrat because I know that as a party we stand for the ideals and the people who make this country great, the middle class and the least among us.  We work hard to ensure that every American is able to have the advantages necessary to live the American Dream. Throughout history, Democrats have enacted laws and policies to make sure this happens. Under Democratic leadership many such laws and programs were implemented, such as Social Security, the Civil Rights Act, Child Labor Laws, and most recently, the Affordable Care Act.  For these reasons and because of the great leadership of men like Roosevelt, Kennedy, Clinton and Obama, I am extraordinarily proud to be a Democrat.

* What issues matter in the Lehigh Valley?

The most pressing issue to us as a region is economic development and job creation.  I am proud to support a president who has led the country on 26 straight months of job growth and has saved the American auto industry. We have much more to do and I am curious to hear the president's economic plan for the second term but I know that for sure we cannot change course back to the failed policies of the Republicans and supply-side economics.

* What are you looking forward to at the Democratic Convention?

This is my first convention and I am looking forward to the overall experience and meeting other great leaders and activists in our party. I am especially looking forward to the testimony from various individuals and the address by the President on Thursday night.

Please don't even begin to compare Obama to the likes of Roosevelt, Kennedy, or Clinton, very disrespectful.

As you said yourself, Steve, you know, I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R. and Lincoln — just in terms of what we've gotten done in modern history." -- Barack Obama, in an interview with Steve Kroft on '60 Minutes' in December, 2011.
Pawlowski is just parroting the view Obama has of himself. My own opinion, he's giving Jimmy Carter a run for worst president in modern history.

I agree! Obama has had to face much worse than these people. He kept us a nation!

Have you people paid ANY attention to what he's done? What's it like on your planet??

I contacted LVHN several months ago about volunteering with my son (8 years old) at the AndersonRead More campus. I would stay with him at all times and supervise him. I was told that they do not accept children. I think its a shame that the hospital will not accept him a a volunteer. I am trying to teach him how to give back to his community . Apparently the hospital does not want our help. I think several patients, especially older ones, would like getting assistance from a young child.

Tom, LVHN does not have an Anderson Campus. I believe you are referring to St Luke's Health Network.Read More LVHN is not able to accept volunteers under the age of 16 years old. There are many mandated reasons that young children are not allowed to volunteer in a hospital setting. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to teach your children. There are organizations in the Leigh Valley who are willing to utilize families. Please visit the Volunteer Center of the Leigh Valley for other opportunities in your area. www.volunteerlv.org
