Did anyone tell the Obama campaign about Musikfest and it's relationship to Moravian College? Parking is crazy to begin with...

Exactly what "Notbornyesterday" said. Dumbasses.
Ben Miller August 7, 2012 at 04:28 am
I concur completely.

I do thank Mrs. Obama her caring about the health of our children, but question why she would have been ok with all of their mothers aborting them when they were in the womb? If it is not your "choice" to eat a cookie at lunch it IS your choice to kill and stop a beating heart. I agree that we need to make healthy choices. The first healthy choice is to not have sex out of wedlock and then the second healthy choice it that if you DO get pregnant, please carry the child and give the baby up for adoption to the tens of thousands of couples in the US waiting for a child (who most often end up adopting from other countries). 9 months of a good choice beats a lifetime of pain and regret over a bad choice that involved murder. It is never wise to coverup and limit your options. When you murder the unborn you have no more options. When you make the most of your situation and in fact give the miracle of life to another couple, you keep options open that you will NEVER regret. "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...begins with the word LIFE. Abortion HURTS women who become physically & emotionally damaged. When our country makes something legal we are stating that it is ok. It is not ok to have the choice to drink and drive/text and drive. Is that taking away our free choice? No, it is keeping people safe for their own good. Perhaps if we act more like self controlled humans and less like out of control animals, people would not be in a situation to even want an abortion. Pray.
Notbornyesterday August 7, 2012 at 12:47 pm
Abortions are going to happen whether they are legal or illegal. The vast majority of people that have them do so after much deliberation and then make a heart wrenching choice. And the ones that make that decision lightly would probably have been the worst parents ever. It's never been let's allow them or not allow them, it's do we make them so that the mother will live or not. I don't think a First lady has the first or the last word on the governments policy on abortion...

Great, how much am I gonna have to pay for that outfit?..ugh....maybe she will want some of my wrotten veggies from the garden
Notbornyesterday August 7, 2012 at 02:07 pm
Lower Mac Resident, I think it's extremely generous of you to personally offer to pay for the First Ladies clothes! She usually has to pay for them herself. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/photos/kidschoice.asp
slyfox August 7, 2012 at 02:12 pm
What?
slyfox August 7, 2012 at 02:16 pm
What? Explain please.
slyfox August 7, 2012 at 02:18 pm
I'm just curious. How many of those "unwanted" babies have you yourself adopted? Just curious. Peace.
Ben Miller August 7, 2012 at 02:18 pm
She SHOULD pay for her clothes. The Obama's are multi-millionaires (not quite the simple folk from Chicago they portray) and they're in the exact same tax bracket as Mitt Romney, which they fail to mention in the commercials about his paying taxes. They also fail to mention that the majority of his income in the last year was from dividends from his stock portfolio, which are taxed AT THE SAME RATE FOR EVERYBODY.
Obama also fails to mention that Romney donates more to charities and non-profits than he actually pays in taxes and he has for years. The President's own donations to charity are basically nothing, as shown by his tax returns. http://www.tucsonsentinel.com/nationworld/report/080612_romney_ad/does-romney-pay-lower-tax-rate-than-you/
Ben Miller August 7, 2012 at 02:25 pm
He's comparing Saddam Hussein with Barack Obama, a comparison I don't really agree with, but it should be pretty clear. He's also calling him a scumbag and saying that vicariously, his wife is also a scumbag. Was that really so hard to understand?
Obama has been a miserable failure as President and I am looking forward to the end to this experiment of putting an unqualified lawyer into the nation's highest office, simply because he has the reputation for speaking well. The kicker to the whole thing is the not only was he a terrible leader, it turns out that he's a terrible speaker too, that he needs a teleprompter for everything. The most ridiculous example of that was his televised appearance in an elementary school, where he used a teleprompter to talk to the kids.
Ben Miller August 7, 2012 at 02:29 pm
See if you can pinpoint the section where the teleprompter breaks. It's quite hilarious and he blames it on lack of sleep- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDJSVPAx8xc
In this one, he completely stopped the speech because the teleprompter broke- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6bhhjv8s-c
slyfox August 7, 2012 at 02:34 pm
@ Ben Miller, thanks for clearing that up even though that is not what I meant. However, you sure know quite a lot, don't you. Good for you! Thanks for your help.
Peace.
Ben Miller August 7, 2012 at 02:39 pm
While we're talking about speaking and lack of speaking ability, let's look at the VP

slyfox August 7, 2012 at 02:48 pm
Hi Ben - Oh yes, let's do that. And while we are at it, let us back up a few years and look up some of the recordings of when Cheney was pres.... oh no, that's not right. Slip of the ole tongue. I meant when Bush was the boss. Quite a few comparisons I believe. All of our previous leaders can be made to look like fools. Every one. None of us are any better than then one in front or in back of you. If your Mitt makes it he will be among those that will be made to look like a fool and goof up. Like you. And me. None are perfect. At least I don't put my dog on the roof of my car.
Peace.
Amend August 7, 2012 at 02:58 pm
@Ben Miller- your claims again President Obama's charitable giving seem dubious, especially in lite of the fact that he donated his entire Nobel Peace Prize award of $1.4 million to 10 charities. Also, I'm not a Mormon so I'm unimpressed with the fact that almost half of Mitt Romney's charitable giving was to his own church. Seriously, if you're going to scrutinize then scrutinize. Ask yourself why you think it's ok for a presidential candidate to work the system so that he can reduce his tax rate to half that of what most Americans pay. Why would anyone support a multi millionaire protecting other multi millionaires unless they were a multi millionate?
Andrew Wilt August 7, 2012 at 03:13 pm
Amend - I will give Obama credit for possibly having a conscience since he most probably donated all of the proceeds of his Nobel Peace Prize knowing full well that he did not deserve it in the first place.
slyfox August 7, 2012 at 03:13 pm
Me becoming a plain old "millionaire" would be sufficent! Even then I would not cast a vote for Mitt. Your comment was well put. Peace.
Barbara August 7, 2012 at 03:32 pm
I am voting for Obama but personally I won't be sad if he loses. Why? because George Bush ran this country into the ground and Obama inherited his mess. Now everyone expects him to be a miracle worker and fix everything in four years with the Republicans and other jerks fighting everything he does good or bad just to prove a point. Let the Republicans get back into office. Do you really think they are for the comman good? They are for their fat back money friends who will only create low paying jobs with no benefits, or farm out jobs overseas for generations to come. More of you will lose your jobs, your homes, and your retirement benefits. Then who will you blame. You need to concentrate on the elected officials you voted for to do the right thing regardess of who's in office. You are all going to be sorry when you allow money and religion to rule the United States. I dare you to check your history on who social programs were developed for who are the majority of people benefitting from those programs. But you won't because it's better to think what you want than the truth. I wish the Obama family the best whether he wins or not because they will have earned it.
Tony August 7, 2012 at 04:10 pm

Frank August 7, 2012 at 05:41 pm
Another mindless conservative on a rant. Can't expect much more from a con.
Frank August 7, 2012 at 05:45 pm
Ben,
You really want to go there? Would you care for me to post links to the uneducated Idiot, GW., and his speeches for 8 years? I didn't think so.
Frank August 7, 2012 at 11:10 pm
Most wish you were swallowed. What have YOU done for the world lately?
Patriot2 August 9, 2012 at 05:00 pm
I am nauseated to hear that Michelle Obama is actually in my community today. Here is someone that hated America until her husband got elected President. Now she lives the good life running around the country telling people what they should eat. Can't wait until she leaves town!!
Frank August 9, 2012 at 05:16 pm
I know how you feel, Patriot2! I feel the same whenever a Tea Party or conservative candidate comes to my community!
slyfox August 9, 2012 at 06:10 pm
What a great attitude you have. Seems you're a bit jealous of her.

All First Ladies have jobs which are undefined and unpaid. they have the perks of being surrounded with Secret Service all the time; ditto their children; not my idea of a great life - very little privacy and the media jumping on every act, expression, food they eat, every choice. they are all amazing women who survive their time in the public eye. doubt if many would chose it as first choice.

I contacted LVHN several months ago about volunteering with my son (8 years old) at the AndersonRead More campus. I would stay with him at all times and supervise him. I was told that they do not accept children. I think its a shame that the hospital will not accept him a a volunteer. I am trying to teach him how to give back to his community . Apparently the hospital does not want our help. I think several patients, especially older ones, would like getting assistance from a young child.
Karla Bachl May 7, 2013 at 03:14 pm
Tom, LVHN does not have an Anderson Campus. I believe you are referring to St Luke's Health Network.Read More LVHN is not able to accept volunteers under the age of 16 years old. There are many mandated reasons that young children are not allowed to volunteer in a hospital setting. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to teach your children. There are organizations in the Leigh Valley who are willing to utilize families. Please visit the Volunteer Center of the Leigh Valley for other opportunities in your area. www.volunteerlv.org
