Local Bands Wanted To Play Summer Concerts

South Whitehall Township officials are looking for local bands to play summer concerts at Covered Bridge Park and the annual National Night Out event.

South Whitehall Township officials are looking for local bands to play at summer concerts in the township and at National Night Out in August at Covered Bridge Park.

Township Manager Jon Hammer said officials are beginning to organize summer concerts in parks, including preliminary discussions about getting a local band to play at the township's annual National Night Out event, which drew 400 people last August.

The township debuted a free outdoor summer concert last year. Cunningham & Associates, the local rock group fronted by Lehigh County Economic Development President Don Cunningham, was the first group to perform in Covered Bridge Park (it had to be rescheduled because of rain).

"If anyone knows of a band they want to recommend, please reach out to us," Hammer announced at Wednesday's board of commissioners meeting.

"We are in the planning stages right now," he said.
