PPL To Introduce Data Center Plans Wednesday

Employees from PPL facility in South Whitehall would reportedly be among those transferred there when center is completed.

The Upper Macungie Township Planning Commission will get its first look at preliminary plans submitted by PPL Corp. for a proposed 115,000 square foot data center at its scheduled meeting on Wednesday.

The address of the proposed facility, according to the agenda, is at 7231 Windsor Drive, between Interstate 78 and Route 100.

PPL Corp. said last week the data center will house approximately 150 employees.

The public planning commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. 

According to this Morning Call report, employees at the PPL facility in South Whitehall would be among those transferred to the new facility when it is completed in late 2012.
