Public Invited to Discuss Covered Bridge Park Master Site Plan

The Covered Bridge master site plan is a blueprint for future conservation and recreation improvements.

South Whitehall Township residents are encouraged to attend a brainstorming session next Monday on how to improve Covered Bridge Park.

The meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the township administration building, 4444 Walbert Ave.

The township hired a consultant firm in June to design a master site plan for Covered Bridge Park and to study connecting it to the proposed Jordan Creek Greenway. The master site plan is intended to provide a blueprint for future conservation and recreation improvements at the park.

Yost, Strodoski, Mears Landscape Architects were hired to study all of Covered Bridge Park, including parts that are not developed yet, evaluate existing uses and determine if any improvements can be made on its layout, conditions and other areas.

Residents are encouraged to express their ideas about the park. Planning consultants will provide a brief overview of the site’s natural and man-made resources and describe the planning process.
