South Whitehall Brothers will be Eagle Scouts

Sachin Apurva Gandhi and Ajay Apurva Gandhi will participate in a recognition ceremony on Saturday, June 23, at Asbury United Methodist Church

South Whitehall Commissioners recently acknowledged the accomplishments of two brothers who will be recognized as Eagle Scouts in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 23.

The brothers also have excelled in their studies at .

Sachin Apurva Gandhi, who graduated this month from Parkland, and Ajay Apurva Gandhi, who will be a senior in the fall, will participate in the recognition ceremony that will be held at .

The boys, who reside in South Whitehall, are members of Troop 12 in the Minsi Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Sachin, for his Eagle Scout project, created a library and made other improvements at the Hindu Temple. He contributed more than 160 hours on the Eagle Scout projects of other scouts from 2008-2012.

was the planting of an “Alphabet Native Plant Garden” at . He gave more than 150 hours on the Eagle Scout projects of other scouts from 2009-2012.

Sachin was ranked in the top 2 percent of his class at Parkland High School and will attend Drexel University, his father said. He is pursuing a career in medicine.

Ajay, like his brother, has earned various honors and awards at the high school and is interested in pursuing a career in engineering.
