Music Teacher, Librarian, Others to Retire from Parkland

The Parkland School Board approved several retirements and resignations at its last school board meeting on Dec. 19.

Students and parents will be saying good-bye to several familiar faces at the end of the school year.

The Parkland School Board approved the following retirements and resignations at its last school board meeting on Dec. 19.

Retirements:

Nancy C. Penrose, learning support teacher at Fogelsville Elementary School, after serving 34 years in education, effective at the end of the school year.

Stephanie T. Sellers, librarian at Fogelsville Elementary School, after serving 37 years in education, effective at the end of the school year.

Debra J. Steely, vocal music teacher at Cetronia Elementary School, after serving 35 years of service in education, effective at the end of the school year.

Kathy A. Horvath, paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, after 27 years of service, effective at the end of the school year.

Carmelina M. Padilla, part-time custodian at Springhouse Middle School, after six years of service, effective Jan. 9.

Wayne S. Schmoyer, head custodian at Springhouse Middle School, after 32 years of service, effective Jan. 4.

Resignations

Mary E. Reis, school bus driver, effective Jan. 2.

Christine L. Lawson, DRP/Title I Aide at Kratzer Elementary School, effective Jan 13.

Michelle M. Zenie, DRP/Title I Aide at Ironton Elementary School, effective Jan. 10.

Barry Kushner, assistant swim/dive coach at Parkland High School, effective Dec. 12.
