Parkland Hires Two Substitute Teachers
Parkland School Board approved the hiring of a substitute second grade teacher at Kernsville Elementary School and a substitute math teacher at Orefield Middle School.
The Parkland School Board approved two subsitute hirings at its meeting Tuesday:
- Jaime L. Rhodes of Allentown, as a second grade teacher at Kernsville Elementary School, effective Oct. 22. Rhodes was recommended as a short-term substitute at the daily rate of $250, replacing Carolyn Ulrich who is on a leave of absence.
- Taryn R. Kulp of Macungie as a math teacher at Orefield Middle School, effective Oct. 22, at an annual salary of $48,671, prorated. Kulp was recommended as a substitute for a temporary vacancy to replace Jaclyn Hege who is on a child-rearing leave of absence.
The following retirement also was approved:
- Carl O’Brien, a building custodian at Springhouse Middle School, is retiring after 22 years of service, effective Jan. 4, 2013.
