Parkland Hires Psychologist, Substitutes

The Parkland School Board approved several personnel changes at its meeting Tuesday night.

The Parkland School Board approved the hiring of four people at its meeting Tuesday:

Kelly Theophille, of Catasauqua, as a school psychologist at . She will earn $57,000 annually, prorated, as of Feb. 21. She replaces Fred Hahn.

* Julie M. Lapp, of Emmaus, as a short-term subsitute teacher for a third grade at , effective March 12.  She will receive the daily rate of $250.66, replacing teacher Ashley Morrison, who is on a childrearing leave of absence.

* Beth A. Ruch, of Macungie, as a learning support teacher at Parkland High School, effective March 13. She is a short-term substitute, earning the daily rate of $250.66. She replaces Laura Walizer, who is on a childrearing leave of absence.

* Thomas R. Hartman, of Allentown, as a substitute school bus driver, at a daily rate of $78.68, effective March 8.

The board also accepted the retirement of part-time custodian Judith A. Harris, who retired after 14 years with the district. Her retirement was effective Dec. 21.
