Parkland School Board OKs 7 Hires, 9 Resignations

The Parkland School Board, at its Sept. 17 meeting, approved the following personnel moves:

Retirements/Resignations:

Michael J. Martin, building custodian at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, is retiring after 16 years of service, effective Dec. 21.

Denise M. Davis, playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective Sept. 20.

Jennifer L. Gerardi, DRP/Title I aide at Cetronia Elementary School, effective Sept. 9, 2013.

Lynne A. Stock, DRP/Title I aide at Schnecksville Elementary School, effective Sept. 9, 2013.

Joseph F. Jecha, full-day school bus driver, retired after 12 years of service, effective Aug. 21, 2013.

Robert W. Sterner, full-day school bus driver, is retiring after 13 years of service, effective Jan. 3.

Barry Laube, full-day school bus driver, effective Aug. 21, 2013.

Megan Carmosky, girls' freshman basketball coach at Parkland High School, effective Aug. 27, 2013.

Christopher D. Gorsky, middle school boys' basketball coach, effective Sept. 4, 2013.

Hires:

Tara Lewis, of Easton, as a part-time, substitute kindergarten teacher at Kratzer Elementary School, effective Oct. 10, at daily rate of $250.66. She will replace half a day for Nicole Jones, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence.

Marabeth Hein, of Allentown, as a part-time substitute kindergarten teacher at Kratzer Elementary School, effective Oct. 10, at a daily rate of $250.66. Hein will replace half a day for Nicole Jones, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence.

Jean Kiely Ostfeld, of Allentown, as a part-time paraprofessional at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Aug. 27, 2013, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Heather Wealand, who moved to another position.

Kristen Windsor, of Macungie, as a part-time DRP paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, effective date to be determined, at an hourly rate of $18.47, to replace Christopher Morrell, who moved to another position.

Nicole M. Barker, of Orefield, as a DRP/Title I aide at Schnecksville Elementary School, effective date to be determined, at an hourly rate of $16.50, to replace Lynne Stock who resigned.

Lisa M. Ritter, of Alburtis, as a playground aide at Fred J. Jaindl Elementary School, effective Sept. 23, at an hourly rate of $14.02, to replace Denise Davis who resigned.

Mary Ann Drews, of Schnecksville, as a part-time food service employee at Fogelsville Elementary School, effective Aug. 28, 2013, at an hourly rate of $14.28, to replace Stephanie Kutteroff who moved to another position.

JoanAnn M. Dunski, teaching assistant at Parkway Manor Elementary School, from Sept. 15, 2013, and not to exceed 12 weeks.
