Parkland School District Hires New Coaches

Parkland School Board approved the hiring of several new coaches at its meeting Tuesday, as well as resignations.

 

The Parkland School Board approved the hiring of several new coaches at its meeting Tuesday:

* William Dreisbach of Allentown, as assistant varsity boys’ basketball coach at Parkland High School, effective Oct. 1. Dreisbach replaces Sean Bodnar who resigned.

* Meaghan C. Buck of Northampton, as middle school girls’ basketball coach at Orefield Middle School for the 2012-2013 school year.

* Jessica Winkelspecht of Laurys Station as junior varsity girls’ lacrosse coach at Parkland High School, effective Sept. 30. Winkelspecht replaces Caitlin Schoemaker who resigned.

The school board also accepted the resignation of:

*Christian Messler of Allentown as varsity boys’ head lacrosse coach at Parkland High School. No further information was provided. However, the board approved Messler's appointment as varsity boys’ assistant lacrosse coach, effective Sept. 30, replacing Stu Steicher who resigned.

* Amy M. Heffner, as freshman girls’ basketball coach at Parkland High School.

Continuing the tradition. Sports comes first, 35 kids in a class, less teachers, no new books for the libraries/classrooms, less school bus runs or new equipment, lights off early, music programs curbed....yep...we have our priorities in order. Very sad.
