Parkland Seeks New Director of School Services

Parkland Director of School Services Mark Lapos is leaving his position after serving more than four years in the department.

The Parkland School District is seeking applicants for director of school services.

The position is currently held by Mark J. Lapos, who will be leaving Oct. 25 for another job, according to Nicole McGalla, a Parkland spokeswoman.

Lapos was promoted to the position in July 2011 after serving as assistant director for two years under Dale Reitz, who retired. 

Lapo, who earned $100,000, previously worked for 27 years at PPL Corporation where he held engineering and management positions.

The director of school services is responsible for overall management of buildings, grounds, and transportation, which includes 11 schools and 150 buses, according to the Parkland School District website.
