Parkland Students Get Perfect Scores in Science Competition

Six Orefield Middle School students earned top scores in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition at Penn State in May.

Six Orefield Middle School students were recognized by the Parkland School Board on Tuesday for achieving perfect scores in a statewide science competition.

The following 7th and 8th grade students received perfect scores in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition: Steven Berger, Briana De Selm, Tilman Guenther, Anna Li, Avery Perosa and Hannah Steele.

Orefield Middle School teacher Dianne Haberstroh said this was the ninth year that Parkland students have participated in the PJAS competition.

Also, Haberstroh said, this year’s competition, held at Penn State in May, included 3,000 students.
