The seventh annual Parkland Partners District-wide food drive will culminate Thursday at Parkland High School.
Students and staff members from Parkland School District joined together to collect items for Second Harvest Food Bank during the district’s seventh annual District-wide community service event.
The result is a 15,000-plus donation. The entire collection will be on display in Parkland High School gym and loaded onto Second Harvest trucks by 45 student representative hailing from each of Parkland’s 11 schools.
Second Harvest President Ann McManus will talk to the students about the impact the food collection will have on the region.
After loading the trucks, students will depart to tour the food bank and learn about hunger in the Lehigh Valley, how their food collection will be distributed, as well as how the food bank works to feed 50,000 people each month in our local region.
